Foreigners can travel between cities or within city districts using various transportation options available in Cambodia. Major cities offer public transport like motorbikes and tuk-tuks. While traffic can be heavy and roads uneven, with some caution and research, visitors can have a safe and enjoyable travel experience.

Getting from City to City ( By Airplane)
Flights to Cambodia arrive in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, or Sihanoukville. Domestic flights connect these major cities but do not reach remote provinces. Daily flights operate between the following cities:
- From Phnom Penh International Airport (PNH) to:
- Siem Reap (REP): Cambodia Airways, Cambodia Angkor Air, Lanmei Airlines
- Sihanoukville (KOS): Cambodia Airways, Cambodia Angkor Air, Lanmei Airlines, JC International Airlines
- From Siem Reap International Airport (REP) to:

By Bus
Buses are a convenient way to travel around cities and provinces. They connect remote areas and cities, and you can catch a bus from the airport to the city center. Buses are run by the government or private companies, and schedules are available online. Most buses have air conditioning and Wi-Fi, operating from 5:00 AM to 8:30 PM.
In Phnom Penh, the city bus system runs from 5:30 AM to 8:30 PM with 11 lines covering various areas. Fares are affordable at KHR 1,500 ($0.37 USD) per ride, and special exemptions apply for seniors, children, and others.
By Train
Cambodia Railway offers train services connecting major cities like Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville, Battambang, Kampot , Kep and Pursat. The train network is 612 kilometers long, and most routes run daily. Tickets can be bought at stations or online, but schedules may change, so be prepared for possible delays.
Getting from Airport to City Center
- *Phnom Penh International Airport* is about 10 to 15 kilometers from the city center, taking 40 minutes to 1 hour to reach, depending on traffic.
- *Siem Reap International Airport* is 9 kilometers from the city center and takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
- Sihanoukville International Airport*is 28 kilometers from the city center, with travel times of up to 50 minutes or more.
Getting Around the City
Remork
Remorks are two-wheeled vehicles pulled by motorbikes, often confused with tuk-tuks. They have a covered trailer that can seat up to six people, making them suitable for families with luggage. They are safer but generally more expensive.
Tuk Tuk
Tuk-tuks are modern three-wheeled vehicles. They are fuel-efficient and can comfortably seat three passengers, with rides typically costing around $1 USD.
Cyclo
Cyclo is a bicycle-powered rickshaw, where the driver sits behind the passengers. While they are becoming less common, they are still found in Phnom Penh, especially near the Riverside.
Bicycle Rentals
Renting bicycles is an affordable way to explore the cities. Prices range from a few dollars to about $10 per day. Safety gear is recommended, and using a map or GPS can help avoid getting lost.
Motodop
Motodops are motorcycle taxis that can quickly take you around town. They usually carry one passenger, but locals often squeeze in more. Fares range from 1,500 Riel to $1.50 USD based on distance.
Taxi
Taxis offer a comfortable, air-conditioned ride, mainly found outside hotels and airports.
Boat/Ferry Services
Boats are popular for traveling between cities and islands, especially on the Mekong River and Tonle Sap Lake. Many companies offer various routes and schedules.
Ride-Hailing Apps
Ride-hailing apps like Grab, TADA, PassApp, WeGo, and Zelo are popular in Cambodia, allowing users to book rides easily through their phones.
